I have been working in the financial services industry since 1996. I spent the first four years working at Investors Group, before I decided to become an independent planner. That way I can give unbiased advise and not have to offer company branded product. Is spent seven years at Dundee Private Investors before moving to Portfolio Strategies in 2006.
I made a decision in 2002 not to renew my insurance license. I think clients are better served by a specialist than an advisor trying to offer everything and spread "his net" as wide as possible.
When I see insurance opportunities, I will refer you to a colleague
who is a specialist in that field.
I guide my clients through many of life's major concerns, which
may be: how can I best plan for retirement and minimize taxes; help
them face issues like losing a job or receiving a retirement offer:
receiving an inheritance and what I can do to set up funds for my
children to support their future education; amongst others.
Throughout my career in the financial services industry, I have
made a commitment to giving unbiased and objective advise.
I have authored articles in the Canadian Money saver as well as writing a monthly column for www.fundlibrary.com.
I live in Surrey, British Columbia with my wife Silvia and my two
children Nigel and Marco-Antonio. I enjoy squash, hiking, music,
sports and travel.
